We are always thinking of ways to engage audiences and build communities with our amazing project creators in mind! Here’s something we have been working on for a little while now, which we are launching as a free tool for all project creators to use and take advantage of.

The Waitlist is a tool that you can use before running an All-Or-Nothing campaign to capture interested users and add them to an exclusive list. It is a simple and customisable landing page that will capture the details of interested users while your project is in the early stages. Once you’re ready to launch your campaign then you can notify these people that have already shown interest to get them to pledge their support!

So how do you use the Waitlist?

We’ve broken it down into 3 main categories, Aesthetic, Value and Follow-Up!

Aesthetic

Read: High-quality images and video!

The first thing that anyone will notice when they click the link to your Waitlist campaign is how it looks. If the image is squashed or if the text doesn’t match your image, you are losing potential waitlist members. Don’t just upload some low-resolution placeholder and think that your audience/customers are going to engage with you and want to sign up to your list. Take the time to craft an engaging page that tells your story to the best of your ability. Record a video or create a slideshow that shows some mockups of what your project will be once it is complete: the finer details are what makes your campaign stand out!

Once you’ve got the perfect visuals in place, it’s time to craft a catchy headline that will simultaneously draw visitors in and explain what your upcoming project is. You’ll be able to edit the Project Name, Title of your Waitlist & include a tagline to sum up what it is you are offering.

Value

Translation: Make sure there’s a reason for them to stay!

In order for someone to give over their precious details and allow you to send them more information about your project, you’re going to need to show them something first. Identify your target audience and speak to them directly; what is it that they want to hear and how can you provide them enough reason to trust you to hear more? Focus on a few key aspects of your upcoming project and don’t be afraid to use a touch of exclusivity for good measure!

Follow-Up

Crucial: Don’t leave them hanging, stay engaged and update!

Once you have created your visually stunning page with your beautiful teaser video and provided initial value for your audience to sign up to your Waitlist, now comes the crunch time. You need to deliver on your promise. This should be both daunting and exciting at the same time. You should want to impress this engaged list you’ve built up because they will be your best supporters and can even provide you with early-stage feedback before you launch publically.

You’ll be able to use our Dashboard tool to analyse your Waitlist campaign and then follow-up by keeping your communications with your list open and transparent. Let them know what your timeline looks like until you are ready to go into production, launch publically, or any other key dates that they can keep in mind/be a part of. You’ve already gained their trust and support to sign up to your Waitlist, now it's time to continue providing value and giving more options for them to engage with your brand or project.
